What is happening with the term ‘risk’? Actually, on one day, I saw 48 tableaus passing on my timeline at LinkedIn, 15 publications from different universities, governments, consultancies, businesses, on how to define, frame, and act. All were different. Paths towards any form of credible and clear standards seem to vanish. The fog around ‘risk’ intensifies.

It is an explosion of definitions, the related dictionaries, leading to huge diversification and segmentation. I see it today, I saw it yesterday, and the day before. Tomorrow will be the same. We are getting lost in translation. Risks emerge everywhere, as well as scientists, institutions, consultants, and politicians, all giving their own explanations, philosophies, perspectives and more so masterclasses with all kinds of certifications.

What is happening? What is going on? What does it tell us when so many gurus are digging in with their own frameworks and approaches?

What is the path ahead? A complete implosion? Or a path towards the basics or anchors of the underlying values? A renaissance?
